Bio
Paula Rocosa is a Catalan pianist with a versatile career as a soloist and chamber musician, combining the reading of the great works with the research of lesser-known repertoires. Her personal project explores new artistic experiences in the concert format and links contemporary repertoire with canonical literature. She made her debut at the TOCA’M Festival in Tortosa and has performed in venues such as the Palau de la Música Catalana, l’Auditori, the Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona, l’Auditori Viader in Girona, l’Atlàntida and the Casino de Vic, the Stadtgeschichtliches Museum and the Centro Interdisciplinare di Cultura Italiana in Leipzig. She is the winner of the 21st Young Performers Competition “Cicle de primavera” 2025, and has been selected for the catalogue of the Xarxa de Joventuts Musicals de Catalunya 26/27, for the MUSAE 26/27 project and to take part in the fifth edition of the ACIMC 2026 impulse programme. Her collaboration with living composers has led to premieres by authors such as Trinton Hlynn with the MDR Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra, Eneko Lacalle and Unai Urkola, and to performances of works by Marc Migó and Raquel García-Tomás. After graduating with highest honours (Matrícula d’Honor) from the ESMuC under Vladislav Bronevetzky, she is currently continuing her classical training in Leipzig, where she is pursuing a master’s degree in performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy under Professor Christian Pohl, with a Beate Graefe scholarship. She has worked with Kennedy Moretti and the Quartet Casals and has received advice from figures such as Edith Fisher, Josep Colom, Frank van de Laar, Alba Ventura, Marzena Jasinska-Siudzinska, Carles Marigó, Alan Branch and Luca Guglielmi. Her interdisciplinary experience, which includes more than fifteen years of training in contemporary and modern dance, is reflected in projects such as the performances 'Desaferrament' and 'La difícil senzillesa'.
